It was a chilly night at the beginning of December when I met with Jesse and his mom, Cassie, at Austin Landing. We had been texting to discuss Jesse’s surprise proposal to his girlfriend of 6 months and thought it would be best to meet and plan the perfect spot. Meeting at night gave us the idea of how it would look the night Jesse and CiCi would be there.
After walking around and checking out the best lighting possible, we decided on a spot. Jesse went back to making preparations and I made sure I had my gear packed and ready.
A few days later my son and I returned to Austin Landing for the proposal. Jackson was with me to act like I was taking his photo if needed, but he also helped carry my gear. We arrived a little early and decided to hide out in the bathroom area…..it blocked the wind and if we got too cold, we’d pop in to the bathrooms that were heated.
A bit later, I got the text that they were 20 minutes out. Jackson and I waited 15 minutes more and then made our way to a bench outside. After a few more minutes, knowing they were already parked, we went to the hiding position. We had to make sure they were parked or they definitely would have seen J and I hiding behind the tall grass at the Austin Landing entrance.
And then suddenly, we saw them. Jesse was leading CiCi across the wooden bridge and he stopped, turned to her, and knelt down on one knee. It was beautiful!
Congratulations, Jesse and Cici!! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this special moment!
